The Future of Language Education, Translations, and Interpreters

So, here is my prediction for where things are going with language Education.

Language education is big business in Russia.  Many people still see the west as some sort of holy grail, a place where their dreams can come true, and they will live in wonderful conditions while earning megabucks!

Of course, one key to getting a job in the west (or even the east!) is knowing the English language.  So, many spend a lot of time, money, and effort in order to gain that required level requested by companies or education establishments.  Often in the form of TOEFL or IELTS exam results.

But what will happen when actually knowing another language is no longer necessary?

No, i don’t mean some sort of Utopian future where the whole world is speaking one language (English of course!), although I do suspect that will happen eventually.

I’m talking about technology.
